"It’s a fitting synthesis not only of the moment but of these players, too—two busy musicians, staying up late to revel in the skills of the other."

about

Steve's six- and 12-string acoustic guitars combine with Mike's esraj, gongs, tanpura, singing bowls, sruti box and banjo for a gorgeous, moody collection of improvised compositions. Recorded in one night in Floyd County, Virginia, USA, in the home studio of noted roots recordist Joseph Dejarnette (Carolina Chocolate Drops, Bruce Greene, many, many more). No overdubs, live in the room sound with Steve wrangling a different guitar each song, including some vintage instruments and a reso guitar, and Joe adding his upright bass to "First of Spring."
